We're on a mission to call out job snobs and prove that any job can be rewarding. We even created a super quick quiz so you can see exactly where you sit on the scale (or call out a mate you think probably needs it). But what's a job snob, you ask?

A job snob is someone who despite needing the money or experience refuses to work low-paying, entry level jobs and looks down upon those people that do. They fail to see the benefits of these jobs and immediately dismiss anything that doesn't meet their personal criteria.

The reality is in tough times, we're forced to make tough decisions, and sometimes that means taking a job that you may consider below your skillset or experience level. Here are the top things to keep in mind:

#1. You are not defined by your job

For the lucky ones, their job aligns perfectly with their passions and career goals. But for others, their job is simply a temporary mode of survival that allows them to pay their bills and stay afloat. Regardless of which camp you sit in, your personal qualities still apply - your perseverance, work ethic, and passion. A job doesn't change any of those things.

#2. Give it everything you've got

Testing times showcase your resilience and strength. It's easy to be happy and work hard when everything's going right but what really shows character is maintaining a positive attitude even when it isn't. If you give your job 110% people will take notice and you'll gain a reputation as someone who works hard and shows potential. There's no limit to where that can you take you!

#3. Start working on a bigger plan

If you're not happy with your current job, you need to start getting proactive. If you're getting paid less than you'd like then starting look into the skills which are required for more advanced roles. If you're getting fewer hours, then consider filling your extra time with volunteer work or internships within the industry you're aiming to work for. This kind of planning allows you to focus on the future and stay motivated towards a bigger goal.
