Vineyard Worker
Job Description
The Vineyard Worker position is one that undertakes the manual work required on a vineyard to
produce grapes for our customers.
Key Accountabilities:
It shall be the duty of the employee to carry out all reasonable instructions and to undertake any
work reasonably required by Alapa. Such duties will generally relate to the care and maintenance
of plants and vineyards, but may include any other duties from time to time.
This work will involve pruning, stripping trimming, wrapping of grape plants in the winter,
through to bud rubbing, shoot thinning, wire lifting, fruit thinning, fruit dropping, netting, and
then hand harvesting of fruit.
Where the employee is required to work on customer’s sites they are required to follow the Health
and Safety rules and any other House Rules or Policies applicable to such sites.
Core Skills Required:
Fit and able - the work will at times require physical strength including lifting, bending
and significant walking
Being able to take and follow instructions
Being able to work effectively in a team
Enjoying working in the outdoors
Skills Desirable:
Previous experience working in viticulture
