Daily Tasks & Responsibilities:
This role involves the operation of Fellmongery process drums where skins are processed
to a preservation state through an extended process.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in these areas,
- Forklift operation, movement of products in bins, on pallets.
- Loading product and chemicals via an overhead monorail system.
- Chemical handling and mixing, with certification.
- Monitoring and measuring process’ throughout multiple process steps.
- Advanced computer knowledge, experience with PLC based systems.
- Understanding of effluent systems and effluent treatment.
- Prior experience in rostered shift work.
- Qualifications in Science, to Fellmongery level 4 or higher.
- Effective communicator.
- Fit and able to walk distances and climb stairs, multiple times throughout the shift.
Requirements
Preference for persons with skin grading experience in a Fellmongery/tannery but experience in making accurate, fast, decisions to known and stated criteria would be advantageous. Must pass a health, drug and alcohol testing. Must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
