Assistant Summerfruit Grower

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in a permanent position. We’re passionate about growing and the outdoors, and we’re looking for similarly minded individuals to join us. We are a large horticultural operation in Roxburgh. We have a core team of employees year-round, that increases seasonally when the cherries and blueberries are ripe and ready for picking.

As an Assistant Summerfruit Grower, you’ll be assisting the Site Manager/Grower with making decisions and will be in charge of a range of tasks so previous experience in horticulture is a must, having a qualification in horticulture would be an advantage. You’ll need to have a passion for fruit production and have a good understanding of that process.

A few specific responsibilities will include, ensuring trees and bushes are, watered, fertilised, pruned, and healthy. You’ll need an ability to lead, motivate and coach staff where required, and have a good understanding and commitment to health & safety in the workplace. You’ll also need to be available during the peak harvest season and be part of the frost protection team.
