Here at the NZ Security Association (NZSA), we assist our security members by finding them suitable candidates to work within their organisations.

We are currently seeking candidates who are new to the industry, those whose employment might be unstable or have lost their jobs due to Covid19.

Vacancies are located in Auckland CBD, Penrose and North Shore

Monitoring operator responsibilities include:

First point of contact for customers and contractors

Respond to alerts generated by monitoring equipment

Successful provisioning of monitoring services to customers

Ensure that compliance requirements are met

Monitor queues and take inbound calls

Provide an excellent level of customer service

To work in the industry you need to be/have:

At least 18 years old

A New Zealand permanent resident or citizen

Able to work irregular hours (the industry runs 24/7)

No criminal convictions

A NZ Driver’s license is preferable as well as your own reliable transport

Comfortable and confident speaking to a diverse range of people

Good, clear written and spoken English

Basic computer & keyboard skills

Excellent attention to detail

Team player

Good Health

You must be able to work at least 30 hours per week. Please do not apply if you cannot commit to 30+ hours per week

At the NZSA we can help link you to our security members who are well known security companies in NZ. If you can secure FULL TIME work (at least 30 hours per week) with one of them, we can pay for your COA (certificate of approval) security license including your temporary license

Skills and experience

If you are comfortable communicating to a diverse range of people, you can follow policy and procedures and have basic computer and keyboard skills and you have a good eye for detail, then this might be the job for you.

Starting rate is around $19.20 dependent on experience
