We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Orchard Hand to join our Heretaunga team. This a full-time permanent position based in Fernhill, Napier. This role covers a variety of operational tasks such as orchard spraying, tractor work, irrigation and structural maintenance. For those with a ‘green thumb’, there is also opportunity to be involved with our vine husbandry team and broaden your skills on this side of the business.
You will be a team player, with can-do attitude and ability to think laterally to solve a problem. You’ll have a passion for operational excellence and the ability to adopt new technology. You’ll show a willingness to learn and be able to work flexible hours as the season dictates.
You will also have:
> Good initiative and be able to work unsupervised
> Experience operating machinery and tractors
> Planning and time management skills
> Attention to detail and accurate record keeping skills
> A good level of physical fitness and be able to work outdoors for up to 8 hours at a time
Preferred but not essential:
> GrowSafe Certification
> Forklift Licence
> Tractor/Machinery experience
