Tractor Operator - Harvest

Vailima Orchard is a successful, 4th generation family owned business with over 200Ha’s of Apple orchards stretching over the Waimea Plains in Hope. We pride ourselves on growing premium produce which are sold locally as well as export. The position is for a competent Tractor operator to assist in carting empty and full apple bins during the harvest period (February 2021 – May 2021).

Key skills that we are looking for are: 

- Previous tractor experience 

- Reliable 

- Available up to 6 days a week during our peak times (February – May)

- Physically fit - Safe and efficient operation of machinery and equipment

- Ability to be able to work in a team environment

- Exceptional communication skills

- Attention to detail

- Able to follow direction

Our hours of work change throughout the year due to different work demands so flexibility around this would be needed. Even though this role would start off on a fixed term contract if you have a brilliant attitude to work, are a quick learner and reliable you can work towards a permanent position very quickly. 

We will begin picking around WC 8th February and finish around early May 2021. We are looking for people that can commit to working the whole season and will be in Nelson for a face to face interview from Wednesday 27th Jan (First group interview)
