Summer Orchard Workers

Summer season is coming along and we are looking for motivated people to join our family based team.

Come and work for a company called WESKCO Limited a kiwifruit business big on family and team based operations. We own and operate 35 canopy hectares of kiwifruit based in Te Puke and Pongakawa and are offering paid summer work.

If you are interested in learning more about the horticulture industry, do you enjoy working outside in the sunny Bay, looking for new work opportunity's, student looking for summer work or locals looking for work to fit in with family commitments.

All training is provided to ensure you know what you are doing.

The summer job will provide exposure to a variety of orchard management tasks including bud and fruit thinning, pruning, tip squeezing, training canes onto strings and girdling.

This summer we are offering flexible working shifts to suit with the juggling of children and work and/or study.

Work is available from October to February; however, the work is outdoors so hours are subject to weather conditions. We are paying competitive market rates.

Must have be NZer/ NZ Valid working Visa/NZ Citizenship/Permanent Residency, NZ IRD number and NZ Bank account.

Other requirements • Have reliable transport and full drivers’ licence • Positive can-do attitude • Drug and Alcohol-free workplace • Be committed, reliable and punctual • Reasonable physically fit and able • Willing to learn new skills • Enjoy being part of a team • Able to work outside in orchard environment
