A typical day of picking starts at 6am and usually finishes before it gets too hot in the early afternoon. You will work a minimum of 30 hours per week but usually over 40 hours per week.
Once the fruit is ripe we need to get it off the trees, so we work 7 days a week, weather permitting.
Pickers are paid per bucket, so the more you pick, the more you get paid. You will be assigned to a gang. Your gang is your team and many great friendships have started here.
Working in a cherry orchard can be physically demanding so it suits those with a good level of fitness.
Our orchards are located around Cromwell, Central Otago - only 45 minutes drive from Queenstown and Wanaka! It is beautiful here :)
Our cherry harvest runs from mid-December until the end of January. We have positions available right through or just for the month of January. Contact us to discuss options.
